TRAUMA - ADULT


Note: In order to complete this set of notes and basically write a text book, I did this AFTER I had my OSCE results back. These are probably not up to the standard of everything else as I have not read them a million times and corrected the errors! Be warned - use at own risk.

Trauma is very structures C-A-B-C-D-E. If an MCQ asks you to prioritise just follow this structure. The management is generally structured. Much of the trauma is in these notes under specific headings (eg: Spine, Neurosurg, etc)

Obstetric trauma - See O+G - about ¾ of the way through. They will ask about physiologic changes in pregnancy

Spine trauma - See Spine. They will ask about cord syndromes and its almost always central cord.

Transfusion/MTP - See Haem
